|
| The
Boy Scouts of America was incorporated to provide a program for
community organizations that offers effective character, citizenship,
and personal fitness training for youth.
Specifically, the BSA endeavors to develop American citizens who are
physically, mentally, and emotionally fit; have a high degree of
self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage, and
resourcefulness; have personal values based on religious concepts; have
the desire and skills to help others; understand the principles of the
American social, economic, and governmental systems; are knowledgeable
about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our
nation's role in the world; have a keen respect for the basic rights of
all people; and are prepared to participate in and give leadership to
American society. |

Cub Scouts |

| Cub Scouts do fun things with other kids! They get to wear a cool uniform, go places, and see things. They play all kinds of sports and build things, like race cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code? Want to learn about wild animals? Go Cub Scouting! | |

Girl Scouts |
|
| Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.
