Janice Uchtman

Janice Uchtman owns and manages rental properties in the City of Buffalo. She currently owns six houses and tries to maintain them in such a way that if she had to move into one, she would. Her belief is that if you have good tenants you are lucky, and you need to make every effort to repair a leak or take care of a problem for them. Also, even if the tenants are not so great, it is important to still maintain the property. She has been a member of the Chamber since 1995 and believes if you own any type of business in Buffalo, you will benefit from being a Chamber of Commerce member.

Janice has always lived in Dallas County. She is a graduate of Buffalo High School and the former Draughon’s Business College, Springfield, Missouri. Since 1994 she has been employed by the Bolivar law firm of Douglas, Haun & Heidemann, P.C., and has served as the firm’s real estate paralegal.

Janice and her husband, Randy, live south of Buffalo and have been married since 2002. She has one son, Lance Doty, who is engaged to be married to Kelsey Turner. She has three grown stepchildren and four grandchildren. Janice is a member of the Charity Christian Church, where she serves as one of the church pianists, prepares the weekly bulletin for the Sunday morning worship service, and is also a member of the church’s program committee. She has been the Republican Committeewoman for her township since 1984 and is a member of the Dallas County Master Gardeners. She served on the board of directors for the Dallas County R-1 Alumni Association from 1978-2007 and spent three terms as a member of the Dallas County Extension Council.
