Bennett Springs,
just minutes north from Buffalo is Missouri's third-largest spring and produces an average of 100,000,000 gallons of water each day. Bennett's spring branch is a mile and a half long, and is divided into three separate fishing zones. Acquired by the state of Missouri in 1924, over the years Bennett Spring State Park has been expanded substantially. Today, the park's 3,099 acres encompass most of the watershed of Spring Hollow, including the 296-foot long Bennett Spring Natural Tunnel.
Bennett Spring State Park
has much to offer you, including a nature interpretative center, reception center, church, dining lodge, swimming pool, cabins, campground, picnic area, and five hiking trails.
Fishing enthusiasts will be
found casting their lines along the spring branch, while others visit the
exhibits interpreting Missouri's springs and natural environment at the
nature center and continues to delight all comers.
